Ranking things has always intrigued me. I liked ranking different things, like who are my favorite Transformers, Autobots or Decepticons, or who are my favorite artists, or what are my favorite movies. It’s always been difficult for me to rank things, because what if I’m ranking on impulse or I’m saying I really like something but it’s quite the opposite. Ranking has always been a bit challenging for me, but I still take on the challenge and I enjoy ranking things.
What that said, it wasn’t easy to make a ranking of the MCU movies, but I decided to make my personal ranking of all of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s movies. I’m ranking them on my personal liking of each movie and show. Keep in mind I haven’t seen or finished everything Marvel has brought out. By everything I am referring to some shows and short films (Daredevil, Punisher, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, The Defenders, Echo, Agatha all along, Werewolf by Night, Eyes of Wakanda, One Shot short films).

Avengers: Infinity War was by far the best movie Marvel has made until date. One way or another, each movie in the Infinity Saga led to Infinity War and it was perfect. I loved seeing all the characters from pretty much each movie previous to it have a role in it. Thanos delivered as one of the best if not the best villain in the MCU, how convinced he was that he was right, and he was the hero in his story. And ultimately seeing his plan succeed. This is definitely the best movie.

Iron Man 2 is another one I want to talk about a little further in detail. I remember watching this movie when I was little and I loved it. To this day I love it. I know it is not the best movie of the Iron Man franchise, it is very imperfect, and it really missed the bar Iron Man had set. I just really loved it. I loved Tony’s suits, the suit within a suit scene is amazing, and that suit to this day is my favorite. The fight scene on the racing track, Iron Man fighting War Machine, I liked Whiplash’s action scenes, I liked Black Widow’s introduction, she was pretty cool in this movie. Another reason why I like it so much was that it was also a movie I used to watch with my dad. I used it to watch it all the time with him, so it brings happy memories.

Another one I wanted to talk about was Spider-Man: Homecoming. I really hated this movie when it came out. I thought Pete and Ned were annoying, and I really didn’t like MJ, but they eventually grew on me, and I loved them. The movie has a very down-to-earth vibe, it isn’t trying to solve the world’s problems, it’s just a story of a boy accepting his limitations despite his aspirations, and being ok with just being Spider-Man. I really love this movie, and it brings me a smile every time I see it. This movie is its own thing despite its connections to the larger Marvel universe. Vulture was a great villain, he was scary, and convinced he was a good guy, doing nothing wrong, just trying to provide for his family. I really love this movie. It’s the best in my opinion. I know No Way Home is a great movie too, and it probably takes the best movie in the Spider-Man franchise, but Homecoming puts more of a smile on my face than No Way Home did.

The very last one I’ll talk about is Eternals. This movie was awful in every sense of the word. Don’t get me wrong, this movie had potential to be a great movie, it is very different from the rest of the MCU, it is extremely disconnected to the larger MCU, but it failed in every way. Some movies and shows thrived in its disconnect from the MCU (Wakanda Forever, Moon Knight, Shang Chi, Daredevil: Born Again) but I believe Eternals disconnect from the MCU was its greatest weakness. There was no connect to any of the characters and all of them were uninteresting. There were several major character deaths, but all of them were no shock or no emotion at all, since there was no connect to any of them. The movies tone was boring, dull, and even when it came to its big moments and big action scenes, it failed. To this day, we have yet to see what they plan to do with the Eternals; we haven’t seen any of them, except in What if…? and Marvel Zombies, one of them is missing and was taken by Arishem. It was a colossal fail. Maybe someone will be able to pick up the pieces, and make a better project with Eternals.
Even if you don’t agree with my personal ranking, I hope you enjoyed it. Thanks for reading!
